Our Story

Orlando Chat was born from a simple observation: despite being one of America's most vibrant cities, Orlando lacked a dedicated space where locals could connect casually and authentically. We saw friends drifting apart due to busy schedules, newcomers feeling isolated in a big city, and communities fragmenting across countless platforms.

In 2020, we set out to change that. Our founders—a group of Orlando natives and transplants—decided to create a platform that would bring the city's famous warmth and hospitality to the digital realm. We wanted a space where a tourist could get local recommendations, a new resident could find their footing, and a lifelong resident could rediscover their city through fresh conversations.

Today, Orlando Chat stands as Florida's most active local chat community, with thousands of daily active users across the metro area. From Winter Park to Lake Nona, from the Theme Park corridor to downtown, our platform has become the digital town square where Orlando comes alive.
